In Christ Alone

In Christ alone my hope is found,
He is my light, my strength, my song;
this Cornerstone, this solid Ground,
firm through the fiercest drought and storm.
What heights of love, what depths of peace,
when fears are stilled, when strivings cease!
My Comforter, my All in All,
here in the love of Christ I stand.
In Christ alone! who took on flesh
Fullness of God in helpless babe!
This gift of love and righteousness
Scorned by the ones he came to save:
Till on that cross as Jesus died,
The wrath of God was satisfied -
For every sin on Him was laid;
Here in the death of Christ I live.
There in the ground His body lay
Light of the world by darkness slain:
Then bursting forth in glorious Day
Up from the grave he rose again!
And as He stands in victory
Sin's curse has lost its grip on me,
For I am His and He is mine -
Bought with the precious blood of Christ.
No guilt in life, no fear in death,
This is the power of Christ in me;
From life's first cry to final breath.
Jesus commands my destiny.
No power of hell, no scheme of man,
Can ever pluck me from His hand;
Till He returns or calls me home,
Here in the power of Christ I'll stand.
This is the song that opened our worship service today and it's one of my favorites. It was wonderful to sing this today on Easter. It was a great worship service and I felt the love of Christ throughout our worship. Glory be to God!
After church I had to serve in the nursery and then I drove quickly home in order to get dinner ready. I was hosting my parents and my grandparents today. It was so much fun to finally be on the hosting side. We had a great meal. Last year my grandma had given me some of her china and we used that to eat on today. It looked beautiful! Here are a few pictures of our day. Here's Abby in all of her finery. She looked so beautiful! She even had a hat and gloves to go with the outfit, but they didn't last until dinner.
Grandpa and Grandma came bearing gifts. They brought a small Dutch windmill for Abby. She loved it and kept twirling it during dinner.
Then Grandma gave me a great gift too! She came with a beautiful glass pitcher. She told me that it had been a gift from her wedding. It was given to her by her aunt and uncle. It's 63 years old! I absolutely LOVE it!
Abby was even allowed to use the beautiful china during dinner.
Here are Abby's photography skills at work again taking a picture of me and my dad.
Here is my beloved mom and grandma. They are truly women on God. I am so blessed to learn from them. When you read Proverbs 31, you are reading about these two women!!
Here are my dad and my grandpa. These are two of the strongest men of faith I've ever had the privilege to know. I am a blessed woman.
The last picture is of Abby's new shoes. She got to pick her shoes and these were the winners. They made her feet sparkle!
