I know it's a day early, but we're busy tomorrow and decided to celebrate Mother's Day tonight. We invited Nana and Papa over for dinner. We had Hawaiian chicken, hash brown casserole, fruit salad, sweet peas and chocolate chip cookies for dessert. We even set the table with a tablecloth and my fine china. It looked fancy and it should because it was a night to honor my mom.
I am so blessed. My mother is truly an amazing woman. May I strive to live life with the love and zest that my mother does. May I love my Lord as much as my mother does. May I have the patience and goodness that she has. Yes, I'm blessed to be her daughter and to have her as my mother.
We bought her a new waffle maker. We have an old family recipe for homemade waffles and it's so good. But mom's waffle iron bit the dust and we needed a new one. I can't wait to try the waffles later this week!Abby got me the cutest apron ever!!! It says "World's Best Cook" and has a picture of a cupcake. The super cool thing about this apron is that the cupcake picture is actually Abby's artwork! Her art teacher at school uploads pictures of all the kid's artwork and it can be viewed online. Parents can also order products with the artwork right on it. This cupcake was perfect for an apron. I LOVE IT!
Grace made a stone star for me. Adorable!! She worked with Nana and put her own hand print on it. It's so cute and will join the one Abby made for me when she was two years old. She was so proud and kept putting her hand back on the hand print.
Here are the two hand prints. Yep, these two hand prints have touched my heart. I am a blessed mother. So blessed!
