Summer Fun at CHR

During the week of the July 4th we headed to our annual week of camping at CranHill.  This is always one of our favorite weeks!  We love CranHill and we absolutely love camping with our friends (who are we kidding, they're really family), the Zomermaands.  This week was so different because of the weather.  It was H.O.T. very, very H.O.T.  It was over 100 degrees almost every day!  It was so hot that all of the trailers with air conditioning cut off the power and we lost power several times during the week for hours at a time.  This kind of weather means you want to hang out inside and no one is motivated to cook dinner on a grill.  The evening campfires were also almost nonexistent.  But, we did manage to have fun!  We played our annual game of rummy, swam in the lake, ate ice cream, feed the animals in the petting zoo and enjoyed one another.

Steven and Abby--best buds for the week!
The annual knife fight between Dad and Steven.  Both knives were bought at Shipsewana.  Too funny!
My pretty girl waiting to ride her horse!
Steven was so awesome.  He volunteered to help Abby on her horse ride.  She had perma-grin the whole time.  Her horse's name was Dash, but all we saw was walking from him.
I got 2 paddles this summer at a garage sale.  Each paddle has numerous suction cups on it and there's a blue ball that you throw between them.  The girls love these paddles.  Grace giggled and giggled whenever we threw the ball to her.  I'm not sure how many times she actually caught the ball, but she loved the game.
Dave and the family came up to visit us and it was such a got day that we headed into town for dinner.  We ended up at McDonalds because it was the chose of the kids.  Haha!  That's not a surprise.

Each year CranHill celebrates the 4th of July with a bike parade.  We headed up to the craft barn to decorate right away.  There were so many choices to use.  Abby chose this big bow right away.  There were even USA tattoos for us to put on.
Hanging out with my 2 favorites!
Grace wasn't going to be in the parade, but she still wanted to participate in the decorations.  She's been in love with balloons and flags lately so she waved them both with great energy.
 Papa and his girls!
Here's Abby riding her bike through the campground.  She had so much fun!
Here we are hanging out at Burger King.  It was another hot day and we had lost power at the campground so we headed into town to the local Burger King because it had air conditioning and a play area to entertain the girls.  We all took our mobile devices and hooked into their free wi-fi.  Ahhh...cool relief.
This one was the happy smiles....
Then they wanted to take a goofy one!  :)
