We're on summer vacation! Yahoo! I absolutely love this time of the year. Being home with my girls is so fun. Today's Saturday, so it's technically not our first day of summer vacation. It's just a weekend, but emotionally I am on vacation. Yesterday I said goodbye to my 2nd graders, headed out to dessert with some work buddies, went out to Red Robin with the girls to celebrate, and slept in this morning! Yep, it's vacation.
We blew up our little pool after dinner tonight and the girls couldn't wait to dive right in. It's a hot day so the water sounded good, but they forgot hot cold the water was and came out shivering. I'm so glad they both love the water and Abby is excited for her swimming lessons on Monday.
Vanderbilt always presents student awards on the last day of school and I was able to sneak into the first grade portion and see Abby get her award. Here she is with her teacher, Mrs. Hall. She got the "Handy Helper" award for being such a good helper to the students and teachers. Her teacher even said that she'll probably grow up to be a teacher. Too cute!
