Camping at Hoffmaster!!

We went camping to Hoffmaster State Park with our friend Beth Postema and her two kids, Levi and Lainey. My parents were kind enough to let us use their trailer for the weekend and we had such a great time! On Thursday night we went for a walk, ended up at the playground and built a fire for smores.  I was so nervous to build the fire.  I'm not that big of an outdoors girl and I've never build one.  But I have watched my dad build lots and lots of fires, so I tried to copy his "tepee" style fire and it worked!  Not only did it work, it crackled and had a brilliant flame!

Abby was beyond excited for breakfast Friday morning.  We had brought doughnuts along with us and we were going to eat them for breakfast!  All four kids scrambled to the table for those doughnuts, while we scrambled for some coffee, several cups of coffee!

Each morning we ventured outside the trailer to our chairs and got ready to watch the mud fest.  All four kids loved the dirt, the water pump, the buckets and shovels, and the bubbles.  It didn't take too long to get everyone dirty and to create smiles on every face!

AND!  Abby lost her second tooth on Friday morning!!!!  The tooth fairy even remembered to visit her at the trailer.  Her smile is adorable!

We had such perfect weather for the weekend!  It was sunny and in the low 80's without a cloud in the sky.  We took the kids on a hike through the woods and discovered flowers, bugs, bridges and fallen logs.  Nature rocks!

Abby and Levi first crawled across the log, then they walked across, then they ran across!
 They conquered that log!!!

On Friday afternoon a few more members of the SCAM group came up to visit and hang out with us.  We headed out to the beach, ate grilled hot dogs, played at the playground, built fire #2 and ate lots of smores!
This picture says it all.  These kids were worn out.  They were tired.  They were exhausted.  They needed nourishment right away.  That nourishment needed to be smores!!
 See!  Smores cures all!
 Another morning, another mud pile!
 Playground fun!
