We went through all of December with barely a snowflake in the sky. I was happy because that meant the roads were clear and the temperature was in the 40's. I would be happy if the entire winter was just like December. However, January 2012 had different plans. It sent 10+ inches of snow our way and make everything white with wind gusts up to 60 mph! 2012 came in with a winter storm! We hunkered down today and didn't leave the house. We finally ventured outside after Grace's nap to shovel the driveway and play.
Grace started out laughing and enjoying the snow and then her gloves fell off and she plopped in the snow. The tears weren't far behind. But she quickly recovered with new gloves and a pail and bucket of her own.
Abby loved the snow! They piled it high in front of our house and she quickly grabbed her new circle sled and zoomed down the hill. She sailed halfway the road. She did it over and over again!
Grace saw me shoveling the driveway so she grabbed hers and thought she would give me some help.
Look at how high the snow pile is! She made a great
snow hill!
Grace grabbed some snow and tried throwing snowballs. Where did she learn that? :)
After a while we got cold and headed inside for some hot chocolate with marshmallows. I love Abby's red cheeks.
Grace didn't get any hot chocolate, but she did get some marshmallows.
