Snow Day!

Well, we've been hit. Hit by the Blizzard of 2011. Hit with 15+ inches of snow. Hit with wind gusts up to 46 mph. Hit with a snow day!!! Yeah! The best part about this was that I got the call the night before so I didn't even have to set the alarm clock. We were able to sleep in until 6:45am. That's over an hour later!
We had a great morning. Abby's not used to slowing life down and she really likes having lots of interaction with friends so she found herself bored quite a bit. But I on the other hand, found lots of things to keep me busy...school work, vacuuming, laundry, work on my new computer, etc. We started the morning off with buttermilk pancakes! We topped them off with smiley faces of whip cream. What a great way to start our morning!

After Grace's nap we ventured outside to explore our snow. Our driveway wasn't plowed until 4pm this afternoon and left lots and lots of piles of snow! The girls loved it! This is one of my favorite pictures. Don't you just love my snow bunnies!

The snow was so high that when Abby climbed to the top of the snow hill, she was taller than the houses!

To top off our fun afternoon we dragged the top of our turtle sandbox out and used it as a sled. She climbed to the top of the hill and then sled down onto the driveway.

The best part of today was the fact that we can do it all over again tomorrow! We're closed for a second day. And I got the call the night before! I'm loving this blizzard of 2011!
