With Thanksgiving weekend over, we thought it was time to decorate the house for Christmas. Abby was so excited to drag out our boxes and boxes of decorations and to begin. For the first time, we set up a fake Christmas tree. I was very apprehensive about it. I grew up with a real tree. I love the smell. I love hunting for the perfect one and then cutting it down. But it just got to be too much for me to set it up and take it down by myself. So we got a fake one. I was surprised at how easy it was to set up. There was no great pine smell, but there were also no needles on my carpet. It's not the world's best Christmas tree, but my girls are in love with it and it does look quite cute. Abby helped me hang the ornaments while Grace was taking her nap. But she quickly left me to play with all the nativity sets while I put all the rest of the Christmas decorations around the house. Now the lights are out and we're watching the twinkling lights of our magical tree. Yep, we love Christmas time.
Abby begged all afternoon for me to bring up her nativity set. This is the set made by my parents. She loves moving all the pieces around and having them all talk with each other. Who needs a live nativity scene, when you can just watch Abby play it all out in your living room? She looks so cute playing with it.
