Asleep in a pillow case?!?

I just went to check on Abby before I headed to bed and this is what I found. She fell asleep in the hallway, but the funny part was that she fell asleep with her legs inside her pillowcase! :)
After I put her to bed, she likes to peek out of her room to watch me grade papers in the living room. Tonight she must have taken her pillow with her and then fell asleep in the hallway.
She looked so uncomfortable, but she didn't even wiggle when I moved her to her bed.
In the pillowcase...can you believe it?!?

A Cold Rainy Day

Today it rained and rained and rained. It was a good day to stay inside and cuddle together. Abby and I ventured out to church this morning for the first service and then I served in nursery for the second service. We stopped at Pizza Hut for lunch on the way home. Then we settled in for our afternoon nap. It was glorious! When it's raining outside, it just feels right to take a nap under a warm blanket. Abby settled down for one too. The rest of the evening was spent taking baths, making dinner and playing Hi-Ho Cheerio. Not too much exciting news, just quality family time. I hope your Sunday was as blessed and restful as ours!

Shelves!

The shelves are done!! And they look GOOD!! My dad is amazing!
For those of you who know me in real life, you know that I am a completely organized person. I love tupperware, rubbermaid and anything else that can keep me organized. Some might even call me obsessive compulsive, but I prefer to think of myself as a highly talented person in the area of organization. Needless to say, these shelves were a dream come true for me.
Before the shelves, my basement pile of Christmas boxes, old yearbooks, old clothes from Abby, etc. were all on a hap-hazard pile. Now they are all up off the floor and easily accessible from all directions.
My beloved father shares the same organizational trait as me so these shelves were build with love and every nail or screw is in the right spot. He worked hard to level everything, make sure it all fit snug, and even sanded it down so I wouldn't get a splinter! What a dad!!
Here are some pictures of our day. Enjoy! Here's Abby waiting on the steps to the basement. She asked me to take her picture. She wanted to make a silly face.
Earlier this morning she donned her princess outfit, put on all her jewelry and even her high heel shoes. She was ready to rule the kingdom.
Here's my amazing dad! Thank you for my shelves dad!
Ta-Da!! Don't they look GREAT!!

Good Morning!

I don't have a new picture to post, but thought I would catch you up on our week. We're up bright and early this morning. The Wiggles are playing and I've already had 2 cups of coffee.

Last night my parents took us out to Olive Garden to officially celebrate my master's degree. It was delicious! I love the Olive Garden, but don't get there too often. McDonalds is often our regular restaurant. After the Tour of Italy dish (with lasagna, chicken parm, and fettuccine alfredo) and an amaretto sour drink, I was very relaxed and satiated. What fun to celebrate a momentous event with your family!

My dad had spent yesterday working on my shelves and they're looking SO good!! He's hoping to come over today to finish the job. I'll post a picture when it's finished. I'm so excited!! It used to be new clothes or a new boy in school that used to get me so excited...now it's shelves in my basement. Go figure! I guess I've officially entered the adult world.

I also learned this week that I've moved up from #7 to #5 on the waiting list for my baby girl. It's getting so hard to wait. I've officially passed the nine month mark, so in essence I'm "overdue". I'm really hopeful that my call will come this month. It is still my prayer that my daughter will come home during the summer months. For some reason it's been consuming my mind lately. Perhaps this is God's way of getting me prepared for two daughters. The other day while driving home from Target, it was quiet in the car and then Abby said, "Mom, I just prayed for my baby sister to come home soon." Yes, that's my prayer too. Will you please join us in this request?

Abby and I don't have much planned for today. We'll do the usual Saturday things: loads and loads of laundry, grocery shopping, cleaning house, etc. I'll try to take some pictures today and update again tonight. Have a great day everyone!!

M-O-M

Last night I was sorting through my mail while Abby played with her refrigerator magnets. It was one of those mom-moments when you're not totally focused on your child, but rather just politely saying "uh-ha, yeah, ok" After all I was working with my huge mail pile.
Then she said "Mom! Look!"
There on the fridge she had spelled my name and I remembered why I love being a mom.

S.I.C.K.

That's right.
Abby's sick.
Again.
She first threw up all over me at church.
Then it happened again at home.
All over me.
Now she's eating bread and drinking Gatorade.
I'm praying that it's the 24 hour bug.
I can't miss work again.
Please pray for health.
Thanks.
